Preparation Directions: No soaking required. Rinse and sort lentils before cooking. Cooking Directions: 1. In large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat, combine 6-8 cups of water and 1 pound lentils; bring to a simmer. 2. Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes or until desired tenderness is reached. 3. Remove from heat; drain well. Lentils are natural agricultural product. Despite use of modern cleaning equipment, it is not always possible to remove all foreign material. Sort and rinse lentils before cooking.
